Terms of Sale & Use

These terms cover buying and using BLAKEWORX plans. Buying a plan means you agree to them. They are written plainly on purpose — if something here is unclear, email [email protected] before you buy and it will be answered.
Who you are buying from

What you are buying
A digital plan package. Depending on the product it contains DXF cut files, nest layouts, a cut list, a hardware schedule and a build manual. The product page for each plan lists exactly what is in it. No physical goods are shipped. Nothing is cut, built or delivered to you — you cut and build it in your own shop, on your own machine.
Delivery
Plans are sent by email to the address used at checkout, within 24 hours of purchase and usually much sooner. Fulfilment is done by hand, by one person, which is why it is measured in hours rather than seconds.
If your files have not arrived within 24 hours, email [email protected] and they will be resent. Check your spam folder first — a zip attachment from a small sender is exactly what spam filters like to hold.
The Shop License
Every plan is sold with the BLAKEWORX Shop License. One license covers one shop.
You may
- cut as many as your shop needs;
- use what you build in paid production work;
- modify the files to suit your machine, your material and your table;
- keep what you build — what you build is yours.
You may not
- share, resell, sublicense, publish or redistribute the files, free or paid;
- pass them to another shop, another company, or a group — each shop buys its own license;
- include the files, modified or not, in a product, a course, a library or a download of your own.
The distinction is simple: the files are licensed, the builds are yours. Build them, use them, make money with them. Just don't hand out the files.
Refunds
Because these are digital files that cannot be returned, all sales are final once the package has been sent. Ask anything you want before buying — machine fit, material thickness, sheet size, what is in the package, whether it suits your setup — and you will get a straight answer.
That said: if the files are wrong, corrupt, incomplete, or genuinely not what the product page described, that is on us. Email and it will be fixed or refunded. This clause exists to stop the files being downloaded and returned, not to avoid standing behind the work.
Safety, fit and what these plans are not
These plans are shop drawings, not an engineering approval. They have not been reviewed or stamped by a licensed engineer. No safe working load is claimed or implied for anything in them.
You are responsible for:
- checking fit, clearances and machine compatibility in your own shop before cutting;
- the material you choose and its actual thickness — measure it, do not trust the nominal name;
- the loads you put on anything you build, and whether your build is fit for them;
- anchoring, guarding, pinch points and safe operation;
- operating your own CNC machine safely, including any macro, toolpath or controller change.
Fixtures built from these plans handle heavy sheet goods and have moving parts. Build them properly, test them before putting a full sheet on them, and follow the safety and test sections in the manual. If you are not confident in a structural or machine-safety judgement, get someone qualified to look at it.
No warranty
The plans are provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, BLAKEWORX makes no warranty, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Dimensions, feeds, speeds, tooling and material figures are a starting point from one working shop, not a guarantee for yours.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, BLAKEWORX is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss — including lost material, lost machine time, lost work or lost profit — arising from the plans or from anything built to them. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the plan.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
Prices and tax
Prices are in US dollars and can change at any time; the price shown when you buy is the price you pay. Founding and launch prices are limited as stated on the product page. Sales tax is not currently added at checkout. If tax rules change and tax becomes due on digital plans, it will be shown at checkout before you pay.
Using this site
The text, drawings, photographs, renders and code on blakeworx.net belong to BLAKEWORX. Don't copy the site or pass off the work as your own. Otherwise, use it freely — read it, share the links, send it to whoever would find it useful.
Privacy
What we collect and who sees it is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The date at the top changes with them. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published on the day you bought.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and any dispute will be dealt with in the courts of California.
